Fitness and Inclusivity: My thoughts
Warning! 🚨 You may change your mind about hating exercise!
Everyone’s experience with fitness is a bit tumultuous, no? Especially if you’re not built like cis white alpha male gym bro Chad. Maybe you have mobility issues. Maybe you have a few (or more) extra pounds on than you’d like.
Maybe you’re like me and hate boring ass calisthenics. Whatever the case is, the fitness space doesn’t exactly feel welcoming of folks who don’t look like previously mentioned Chad. It doesn’t always feel inclusive.
Fitness coach and nutritionist Michelle Rosko is on a mission to make the fitness space more inclusive to non-Chad beings. She helps her clients understand and enjoy fitness in a way that’s meaningful for the life they want to live. I dunno about you but I’d love to enjoy fitness more than I currently do.
She invited me on her podcast, Fitness Freedom, to talk about my personal experience with inclusivity in the fitness world as well as share some insights as a life coach. As a black, queer, neurospicy baddie you know I had shit to say! 😈
Listen to us kiki about the barriers to exercising, share hot takes on how the industry deals with beginners and neurodiverse folk, and get advice if you think fitness isn’t for you. Maybe you’ll get the perspective shift you need to take the first step towards improving your fitness.
